The Apple, Pyrus malus L., is very important fruit tree in terms of popularity and market value, for example in USA the annual production is around 4,336,520 ton and in Israel around 115,000 ton annually. This fruit tree is a member of the Rosaceae Family and it is a native of crossing wild apple spices from Europe and Asia. Apple is grown for the fresh market in different colors of fruit: Green, Red, and Yellow.


In the past all the Apple orchards were grown in the open field, in last year's allot of orchards of Apple started to use nets to protect them. The main purposes of the nets are as anti hail or to protect from the sun burn in the fruits. Additionally the nets cause to have more yield and better quality of the fruits. The most common net for protecting the Apple crop is Cristal net 10% shade up to 25% of shade as White Pearl net.


The optimum temperature for growing Apple trees is between 5.7°C to 24.2°C.


Apple trees can stand -10°C but the flowers cannot stand a frost. The Apple trees need 1,000 hours of cold (below 7°C) or more hours depended of the variety to have good yield.
